Every year, 855 billion single-use packages are wasted, including 11 billion ketchup sachets.

The Dissolvable Sachets Challenge project is launched with the aim of fostering knowledge, inspiration, and innovation in addressing the sustainability challenges of product packaging. It aspires to reduce the accumulation of plastics and microplastics in the ocean and the environment.

The goal was to produce sachets with the same mechanical strength and ketchup preservation capability as current non-biodegradable plastic ones but with a significantly lower environmental impact.
